You are very welcome to the New Website of Castlebar Parish! We are a very Happy Catholic Community here and whether you are joining us as one of our parishioners or you are just interested to see what were about you are all most welcome. Castlebar is the capital of Mayo and the Parish of Castlebar is part of the Archdiocese of Tuam.
Our current Archbishop Dr. Michael Neary is himself a native of this Parish. As a parish we serve an estimated Catholic Population of 17,000 Catholic's and we have three Churches, namely Church of the Holy Rosary in Castlebar (1901), St. Aloysius Church in Breaffy (1977) and St. Patrick's Church in Ballyheane. Church of the Holy Rosary is more Commonly known as the Parish Church and is on Chapel Street in the very centre of Castlebar.
We are a vibrant community that values each and every person that is a part of this community. At the present time we have many projects going on to prepare the Parish for the future and a big part of that is to start working as a Cluster. We are part of the Castlebar Pastoral Area which includes: Castlebar, Parke/Crimlin, Ballintubber, Mayo Abbey, Balla/Belcarra & Keelogues Parishes.
